In response to a leak of some images earlier in the day, Maserati took it upon themselves to release a whole slew of official images of their new Levante SUV that will debut in Geneva in a few weeks time.
Said to share some mechanical underpinnings with its FCA brethren the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the manufacturer claims the Levante will offer excellent on-road manners you’d expect from a Maserati, while providing outstanding off-road performance. Levante takes its styling cues directly from Ghibli and Quattroporte and GranTourismo sharing the same grill design, headlight styling and even from the side, the lines share a strong familial look.
Levante will feature Maserati’s Q4 All-Wheel-Drive system that is now available in Quattroporte and Ghibli using a retuned version 8-speed automatic transmission that is currently in both cars. Engine choices have not been announce but there will be a diesel option to go along with a high performance gasoline model.
We’ll have more details about the Maserati Levante as they become available.
