Martell has released the L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château de Chanteloup, as part of a new inaugural series in which each release is inspired by a historic French château.
Made with over 1,400 eaux-de-vie selected from four terroirs in the Cognac region and aged in 300-year-old fine-grained oak barrels, L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château de Chanteloup is truly a tribute to the art of blending and the golden age of France. For the first edition of the collection presented in 2024, the ageing process was completed at the Château de Chanteloup, once the home of the Martell family. Only 1,000 limited edition bottles were created, with 750 available in the United States.
Each crystal decanter is made by hand by Baccarat, complete with a 19-carat gold neck. The bottle rests inside a beautifully hand-crafted marquetry wooden cabinet made of materials reminiscent of the golden age and French art de vivre. The partnerships between both Martell and Baccarat as two iconic houses of French luxury, merged the storied past of craftsmanship, heritage and the pursuit of excellence.
The amber colored liquid lends itself to the craftsmanship of the 300 year old cognac house, with notes of iris, wild carnation and honeysuckle intermixed with notes of red fruit sandalwood and cedar. On the palate, floral notes greet the palate, followed by spice and more red fruits. After some time, woody notes appear with the long finish. To learn more: martell.com
