The fourth edition of the Gucci Group Award, which the luxury goods group annually bestows to an international artist for his or her contribution to film, on Monday honored “The Hurt Locker’’ screenwriter Mark Boal. The winner was revealed at a ceremony Monday evening at François Pinault’s art museum, Palazzo Grassi, in Venice, during the city’s 66th international film festival. “When we created this award four years ago, our goal was to extend our support of the arts by recognizing those who enrich our everyday lives through their creative genius,’’ Robert Polet, president and chief executive officer of the group, told WWD. “Specifically, we sought to honor contributions to film — the ultimate ‘melting pot’ of artistic expression.’’ – from WWD
