Maria Sharapova has let go of her Manhattan Beach home for $5.25 million in an off-market deal. The Russian professional tennis player, who has been residing in the United States, is ranked world No. 3 by the Women’s Tennis Association. Sharapova had bought the house in 2005 for $3.735 million. Located about two blocks from the Manhattan Beach Strand, the three-story contemporary-style home features walls of tempered glass windows and steel beams. Such a setup allows liberal inflow of natural light in the rooms and also gives great views of the surroundings.
The new owners of the Sharapova-owned property will be comfortable in the 3,750-square-foot house that includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms. While the rooftop patio provides amazing views of the ocean, a two-car garage sits off the rear of the medium-sized family home.
The 28 year old Olympic medalist also owns another property in the same area. A former Women’s Tennis Assn. No.1-ranked singles layer, Sharapova has won five Grand Slam titles, including the French Open last year. The 27-year-old earned a silver medal for Russia at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
