Valentine’s Day is all about love and everything else that is an extension of love. Right in time for the love-filled season and catering to the hype of the upcoming American erotic/romantic drama film, Marc Jacobs has teamed up with Zana Bayne to launch a capsule collection of leather accessories.Loosely categorized as sex-accessories, the S&M inspired collection comprises of heart-shaped pasties, heart eye mask, collar set and mini whip keychain. Making an ideal ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ themed gift, the kinky leather collection, ranging from $65 to $200, will be preferred well over the usual heart-shaped chocolates and flowers.
Zana Bayne, the founder of luxury leather brand, described the collection as, “Everything is a little bit naughty and a little bit nice, and in my mind pretty cute.” Highlighting Marc Jacobs’s signature heat motif, the designer enjoyed the challenge of reinterpreting classic items such as a collar and lead, riding crop, and mask. She added, “I came up with the tiny gold eyelet detailing as a way to reference the heart shape without being so literal.”
Sharing her inspiration for making the heart shaped pasties, Zana mentioned, “I was trying to think of something cute and sassy at the same time, and for some reason the idea of ‘pierced pasties’ popped into my head. I knew immediately that I had to make them!” Available for $65, the leather heart shaped pasties with decorative gold barbell hardware are lined in black leather and stamped with cobranded logo. Don’t worry, it doesn’t require piercing. While the leather heart shaped peek-a-boo mask inspired by Lolita’s heart shaped glasses can be tied around the eyes for $150, the heart shaped collar with gold rivet details and gold center ring sports a detachable chain lead and leather strap for $200.
The naughty romantic collection is modeled by Ali Michael and captured by photographer Todd Pendu. Styled by William Graper Studio, Ali’s make up was taken care by Michael Anthony and hair by Ryan Austin.
