Mere helmet does not sound that luxurious. But if you are told that it is a helmet that has been prepared with the hand-laid scintillating Swarovski crystals which total to 12,000, then it surely appeals you in a big way. Rich Dellinger, who works as a software designer in a fruit company at Cupertino, is the artist behind this geeky but luxurious creation. When in his youth, Rich Dellinger wanted to become a part of movies by making sculpture and doing special effects in them, but he ended up in a field that was totally different to what he desired for. Still his passion led him to the making of this beautiful and luxury helmet.
During the making of this Swarovski crystals embedded Boba Fett helmet, Dellinger researched the way of adhering the crystals with materials. The helmet thus has a very detailed work which is evident from the fact that the crystals total to an astonishing number of 12,000. It’s not just exterior that has been made brilliantly, the artist made the interior of the helmet equally nice as he has used exquisite blue padded leather to line it. This leather was contributed to the artist by Lucas Alvarez from Argentina.
The Boba Fett helmet is a part of ‘As You Wish Helmet Project’ and the real inspiration behind its creation is a diamond studded skull made by Damien Hirst known as ‘For the Love of God.’ The project is about to display over 40 Boba Fett and Clone Trooper helmets that would be showcased at Star Wars: Celebration VI in Orlando, FL. This exhibition will start on 23rd of this month and will continue till 26th August. All the helmets that are included in this project will be auctioned for charity on eBay. Make-A-Wish foundation will get all the money raised by the auction.
Rich Dellinger is too joyous to be a part of this project that is going to be done for a charitable cause. The one who will finally own his beautiful creation will sure feel kingly after getting this helmet.
