Louis Vuitton visits the windows of Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche to celebrate the new designs of Nicolas Ghesquière. The French house has worked upon a dedicated window display and exhibition at the LVMH-owned Parisian departmental store. WWD states that the window display is dubbed “On Stage”. Inspired by the Autumn-Winter 2015 show, Louis Vuitton has created a digital installation, complete with animations, video performances and lighting.
The exhibition which is also on display until October 31, under Le Bon Marché’s central glass dome on the ground floor, is organized around themes including the monogram, mixing contemporary designs with archive pieces.
Louis Vuitton has also put up a collection of its New Classics in limited edition colors, centering on indigo, exclusively for Le Bon Marché. It includes a pair of boots, a peacoat, a trunk, a stole and the Petite Malle handbag. The French luxury label also marked its presence at Le Bon Marché with a cocktail at the oldest department store and the only one of the Rive Gauche. The evening bought together the likes of Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of the women’s collection, Delphine Arnault, executive vice president, actresses Adèle Exarchopoulos and Doona Bae.Speaking about the sight-and-sound display, Ghesquière explained, “The idea is to reflect the season. There are more and more series of innovations and technology [at Louis Vuitton] so it was the message for the Bon Marché: A modern Louis Vuitton.”
He also added, “It goes through technology, digital, a multitude of images, as well as video and sound systems. I have always been curious about technology and anticipation. I love new tools.”
