The much awaited Louis Vuitton Cruise 2016 Collection saw daylight at the Bob and Dolores Hope estate in Palm Springs, California. The French luxury house presented Nicolas Ghesquière designed Cruise Collection, marking the creative director’s 6th collection.
The destination of the event is a symbolic landmark and has inspired Ghesquière ever since he first saw it. The fashionably designed house transformed in to a “remarkable setting” for his second cruise collection for Vuitton. The six-acre estate is one of the largest and most striking modernist homes in the area. Up for just under $25 million, Hope’s house has been designed by John Lautner in 1973. The high-profile event drew a crowd of 400 including LV-favorites like Michelle Williams, Miranda Kerr, Selena Gomez, Catherine Deneuve, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Marisa Tomei, Alicia Vikander, Zhang Ziyi, and Maggie Cheung adding power to the front row.
While Michelle Williams sported a patterned slip dress and black booties, Selena and Miranda scored in leather outfits.
Nicolas Ghesquière’s Cruise creations raced high on futuristic aesthetic and included maxi-dresses, leather jackets, quilted coats, hot pants, jacket mini suits, gypsy dresses, outfits fitted with holster-style belts, platform heels, quilted brogues, lace up boots and much more.
Just hours before the show, Louis Vuitton also posted images of the preview of the 2016 Cruise Petite Malle from Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton artistic director of women’s collections.Video Update –
