Barrie, the Scottish cashmere house, has announced the launch of a Paris store and a first ready-to-wear collection, featuring British-American actress Lily Collins.
Based in Hawick, Scotland since 1903, Barrie was acquired by Chanel in 2012. Rising star Lily Collins, the daughter of British rocker Phil Collins, has been shot by Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld as the face of the brand for its debut Autumn-Winter 2014/15 collection.
The new line has been designed to shake up the cashmere market with 20 new edgy silhouettes. Twenty-five-year-old Collins made her movie debut in 2009 with “The Blind Side” and has gone on to success with film roles alongside Paul Bettany in “Priest” and Julia Roberts in “Mirror Mirror.”
“To say that I’ve always admired and respected Karl would be a huge understatement,” said Collins. “He is the true representation of an artist and virtuoso. Collaborating with him on this Barrie campaign was such an incredible experience.”
The collection will get its preview at Colette in Paris from June 9, with the opening of the brand’s first store at 380 rue Saint-Honoré, on June 15.
