Land Rover’s classic Defender has been largely immune to the vagaries of the luxury SUV market over the past six decades – until now. The company just unveiled its new Fire & Ice editions, with odd little upgrades that are bound to make Land Rover purists wince. Allegedly inspired by “inspired by the most rugged landscapes on Earth,” more likely the designs were inspired by a marketing department looking to spice things up a bit. The Fire edition is the more egregious of the two, finished in Vesuvius Orange, while the Ice comes in Alaskan White. – From James List
