All the divas who swear by exceptional make-up, legendary fragrances and the most innovative skincare would be dedicated clients of Lancôme. The French house of luxury perfumes and cosmetics has commissioned three globally renowned designers from Paris for their latest project ‘Nouvelle Vague by Lancôme’. Yiqing Yin, Alexandre Vauthier and Jacquemus have been commissioned by the L’Oréal owned eternally feminine brand to design limited edition make up kit. The advantageous USP of this product is that each of makeup pouch can be used as an evening bag too.
The trio were asked to create a bag such that it can comfortably hold the label’s key products – L’Absolu Rouge lipstick; Hypnôse Star mascara and Hypnôse Palette eye shadow. The only mandatory prerequisite was to glorify the signature Lancôme rose logo on each of the limited edition couture makeup bags.
Jacquemus who also happens to be one of the finalists for the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize has given shape to a round pink bag. This uber-girlie is made out of waterproofed cotton, suitable for all weather. This hybrid carry pouch and evening bag is aptly designed to be strapped around the waist with a white strap.
While Alexandre Vauthier’s edition is inspired by black lacquered cosmetics packaging and looks elegant in the rectangular shape. The black silk satin clutch is fitted with a metallic clasp and a gold-colored chain.
The bag featured above along the three designers in the image is by Yiqing Yin. This retro gem-shaped clutch in silk crepe with pale gold lamé features a mirror inside and a detachable chain too. Designed to be very practical, this geometric hard case is a perfect blend of beautiful form with no-nonsense function.
From June 16 onward, all the three makeup bags along with the Lancôme products will be available for about $500 for the Jacquemus bag and around $1100 for Yiqing Yin and Alexandre Vauthier designed bags.
