La Perla’s first haute-couture collection is designed for those who have a passion for feathers. In Paris, the Italian lingerie brand La Perla showcased their latest creation, a custom-made bra embellished with feathers. This piece of lingerie wings its way in to the most-desirable list as it is decked with flowers made of feathers. While the use of feathers in the fashion industry isn’t new, the goose-feather bra has upped the ante for haute couture shoppers. For the price of $3,074, each feather of this bespoke bra is hand-dyed and sewn in place at the label’s Bologna, Italy, factory. One image from the catwalk portrays the model flaunting a long-line bra teamed with a high-waisted suspender brief set. Both the pieces along with the stockings features the signature feather embroidery.
The Italian corsetry label has also designed a complementing sleeveless hoodie bestrewn with same feathers. La Perla claims that the $8,448 feathered bodysuit is a best-seller for its haute couture catwalk collection. Another image from La Perla haute couture collection shows the model clad in a hooded silk robe with feathers on the trim and back panel. The long-sleeved tulle suspender bodysuit also features the same feather embellishment along the neckline as well on the stockings.
Apart from the elegant use of the feathers, other appreciate-worthy details of La Perla’s haute couture collection includes fine hand pleating and cottony soft lace.
Though La Perla was founded in 1954, the brand is still spreading out to strengthen its presence by building stores in China, Europe and the U.S. with a new Italianate design by architect Roberto Baciocchi. Many of the stores include VIP salons for private appointments, such as one at the newly renovated Madison Avenue store in New York. In the U.S., there are new stores coming or recently opened in Atlanta, San Francisco, Houston, Bal Harbour, Fla., and Chicago.
