La Mer has teamed up with Kelly Wearstler to create a limited-edition box for the launch of its Genaissance de la Mer serum. American high-end exclusive cosmetics brand and the American designer have come together for first time for this exclusive product offer. Renowned for her use of natural and organic elements for everything from furniture to fine jewelry, Kelly Wearstler has designed the crystal-capped black lacquer and bronze vanity box which is inspired by and includes the newest beauty phenomenon, Genaissance de la Mer.
According to WWD, Wearstler was excited to take on the project and drew inspiration from what La Mer has coined its Crystal Miracle Broth which is a concoction of sea kelp, vitamins and minerals infused into Genaissance. This was then paired with her own “raw and refined aesthetic” for the vanity box. The 48 year old designer also spoke about her style of work, “My design incorporates rich, organic textures inspired by the raw beauty of nature. A cornerstone of my aesthetic is my collection of raw, mineral crystals and stones that I use in my jewelry, home decor and furniture collections.”
Twenty-five walnut wood boxes are available for sale in the U.S. for $1,200 and are being sold exclusively via the La Mer Web site.
Apart from this limited edition packaging, Genaissance de la Mer serum individually sells for $620. It is conceived to transform age into agelessness and was inspired when a scientist at the Max Huber Research Labs discovered crystals forming in a beaker of Miracle Broth. With everyday application, skin is infused with a new look of life and rejuvenation becomes reality.
