La Perla has announced Kendall Jenner as the face of its spring/summer 2017 campaign this week. The model is joined by two of the brand’s regulars — internationally renowned models Liu Wen and Isabeli Fontana — in a campaign themed on liberating women.
Kendall Jenner is everywhere right now. From sportswear brands to couture labels and lingerie lines, Kendall Jenner is one of the brightest stars of the fashion world, both on catwalk shows and in campaigns shot by the industry’s leading photographers.
La Perla creative director, Julia Haart, personally picked the American model for this spring/summer 2017 campaign, themed on “the liberation of women from the need to suffer for beauty.”
“Kendall’s contemporary charisma adds an unmistakable touch to every garment, simultaneously highlighting the modernity and the relaxed, self-assured elegance of each piece she wears,” the brand said in a news release.
The model stars alongside Liu Wen and Isabeli Fontana, who have featured in previous La Perla campaigns. All three can be seen against a backdrop of intense, almost electric colors, shattered glass effects, flames and flashes of light, marking a stark change from the brand’s usual minimalist campaigns.
The campaign was shot in New York by the famous American fashion photographer, Steven Klein, under the creative direction of Fabien Baron. It showcases new pieces from the brand’s lingerie collection, as well as La Perla ready-to-wear and swimwear. Tulle and silk take center stage in this season’s offering.
