Katy Potts tea ware is inspired by the original Staffordshire Potteries of the early 20th century. In the 1920s and 30s there were over 250 such potteries in existence – now there are only a few. Katy Potts returns to that era a fine craftsmanship, and now, for the first time, offer their products online for the world.

The first collection from Katy Potts Utterly English Teaware is available to purchase from the their website katypotts.com.

US pricing runs from $200-220 for these beautiful pieces of work.

PRESS RELEASE

Made by skilled craftsmen from the original Staffordshire Potteries, the hand-painted finishing details in each teapot makes Katy Potts Utterly English Teaware a truly unique purchase. Inspired by the vibrant colours, patterns and innovative shapes found in the vintage tea sets sourced for her ‘Tea for Two’ brand over the years (stocked exclusively by Liberty, the renowned London luxury department store), Katy has designed a collection of new, quintessentially English teapots crafted from the finest materials and unlike anything else currently being made.

With over two hundred and fifty years of experience, the skills of the famous Staffordshire Potteries are put to use in the exquisite detailing such as banding, enamelling and gilding. With a new firing required after each of these processes just one teapot can take in excess of 40 hours in the kiln. The luxurious ‘Octavia’ teapot is heavily gilded in 24 carat gold over a pale turquoise, black, lemon or cream base giving a rich opulent feel. Skilled coloured banding has been applied to Flora Dora to accentuate the clean lines of its art deco shape. With a milky white bone china base, enamelled butterflies and insects surround a hollyhock illustration. Also available in 4 colours: black, green, blue and dolly-mix.

Just like the vintage teaware (which was once exported in great quantity across the world to America, Australia, New Zealand and Canada), we hope these items will be cherished for a lifetime to come.

To match the special quality of the teapots, each item is beautifully gift wrapped in a stitched black hat box with a rose patterned interior and held secure in a foam mould.
