Top model Kate Upton and Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander have announced their engagement at New York’s Met Gala, the annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s Costume Division. Upton showed up at the event sporting a fairly huge rock on her ring finger, which she received from Verlander after dating for more than three years.

“I’m really excited; he asked me right before season started, so we’ve been keeping it on the down-low for quite a while,” Upton told E! News. “So I’m excited to finally be able to share it with the world!”
Upton went on to say that they won’t be walking down the aisle any time soon. “We are enjoying the engagement period,” she added.
It was verified that MLBer Verlander designed the massive engagement ring for Upton.
