Karlie Kloss takes back the crown of being the face of Topshop. The 23 year old diva returns after eight years to the British multinational fashion retailer for their Spring 2016 campaign.
Taking over from Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss models the collection in a series of images shot on location in New York by Tyrone Lebon and styled by the brand’s creative director, Kate Phelan. Topshop also inspires its fans with the model, entrepreneur, student, philanthropist, coder, fitness guru and foodie, suggesting so many ways to ‘Be More Karlie’ in 2016.The campaign is accompanied by an interview that highlights ten ways to Be More Karlie. She speaks about everything that has motivated her, empowered her and helped her to be a better person on all platforms.Insisting on the need to know coding, Kloss states, “I think it’s incredibly important for girls to learn how to code. I started Kode With Karlie to empower other young women like myself, to encourage them to recognize that it can be something they can find interesting and that it can get them ahead in their career.”
Looking back over her first campaign with Topshop, she recollects, “One of my first modelling jobs was my Topshop campaign eight years ago. My grandmother brought me over from St Louis. I was young and shy and super nervous to be on set of Topshop. Luckily I was shooting with Jourdan Dunn and we became overnight best friends. I think she had me in stitches
the whole time we were shooting.”
While Phelan believes that Kloss is “the ultimate Topshop girl and modern super — a world-renowned fashion figure, businesswoman, entrepreneur and philanthropist who will resonate with our global customers through her many talents, ambitions and passions.”
