Unknowingly, Chanel’s New Ads For The Spring 2019 Collection Were Karl Lagerfeld’s Last.
For Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring 2019 Chanel Couture show, the creative director was conspicuously absent from the show. In a statement to WWD, Chanel explained that Lagerfeld “was feeling tired” and “asked Virginie Viard, director of the creative studio of the house, to represent him and greet the guests alongside the bride.”
Lagerfeld, the legendary Chanel creative director, passed away a few weeks later in Paris at the age of 85.
However, here is an exclusive look at Karl Lagerfeld’s last ad campaign for Chanel, featuring the Chanel spring couture collection.
Styled by Carine Roitfeld, Karl Lagerfeld’s last Chanel ads were shot in Lagerfeld’s studio and featured an ensemble cast of models, including Vittoria Ceretti, Sarah Dahl, Adesuwa Aighewi, Hyun Ji Shin, Rebecca Leigh Longendyke, Nora Attal and Kris Grikaite.
