Clad in snow white fur and loaded with an attitude fit to give any super model a run for her money, Karl Lagerfeld’s pet cat is all set to debut as the face of a beauty campaign. Choupette Lagerfeld has got it all to bag the modeling assignment for Japanese brand Shu Uemura’s latest makeup collection. Designed by Chanel’s head of design and creative director, the feline themed beauty line is dubbed as Shupette by Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura.
According to WWD, the Shupette collection has been designed to revolve around feline styles including furry eyelashes. The capsule collection will also highlight quotes from the feline, such as “queen of catnaps” and “social media’s most wanted.” Choupette was captured by her owner and the designer of the collection for her first professional campaign. Posing gracefully, the most fortunate kitty is already very comfortable in front of the lenses and has a fan following of almost 37,000 Twitter followers.
It is also reported that this is not the first time that Karl Lagerfeld has partnered with the cosmetic company. He has often made use of Shu Uemura makeup colors in his fashion sketches and political cartoons for more than 20 years. The designer supports his long-standing association with the beauty house by quoting, “I design with shu uemura make-up because other manufacturers do not offer such beautiful colors.” Also in 2012, Shu Uemura collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld for an exquisite Mon Shu make up collection.
FYI, the pet and muse of designer Karl Lagerfeld originally belonged to the French male model Baptiste Giabiconi and was given as a gift to Lagerfeld around Christmas 2011.
