Karl Lagerfeld Poses With Drag Queen Conchita Wurst

Karl Lagerfeld flaunts his open-minded spirit to pose with the Austrian drag queen and singer. The octogenarian fashion designer not only is featured in the forthcoming issue of CR Fashion Book along with the Conchita Wurst, but he is also the man behind the lens of the campaign. Known to cross the norms and set never-seen-before bold trends, Karl promoted and praised the drag queen superstar by quoting that “not only does he really have a voice but he has done something that’s never been done before.”

Sporting a beard, Wurst sensual poses in new creations from Givenchy, Prada, Chanel and Rick Owens with perfectly groomed brunette hairstyle. The Fall issue of CR Fashion Book also shows Conchita in lace lingerie along with a pregnant model, Ashleigh Good. In one photo he appears wearing suspenders alongside Ashleigh who is Karl’s current favorite as the designer also chose to walk down the ramp of Chanel Haute Couture autumn/winter 2014 show in Paris. 

Karl has put some serious thought before making the two pose for this shoot. He stated,  “A skinny musician next to a pregnant top model, it was a game of volumes.” Also supporting the idea of a bearded man posing as a lady, he added that this shoot brings new meaning to the term ‘drag.’

CR Fashion Book Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld supported the shoot by stating, “Karl’s talent in photographing with a classical style gave more strength to Conchita’s character.”
