Hollywood actress Julianne Moore has been named by the cosmetics giant L’Oréal as a global ambassador for the brand. The actress will also promote a new anti-aging product named Cellular Renaissance.
The star of Hollywood movies including The Hours, A Single Man, and the recent Crazy Stupid Love, Julianne Moore is a bankable face in the international beauty market, and L’Oréal has pounced to sign her as a global ambassador for its cosmetics brands.
Moore has previously starred in poster campaigns for Bulgari and Talbots and won an Emmy Award this year for her role as politician Sarah Palin in HBO’s show Game Change. The actress has also been nominated for four Academy Awards over the years.
“I’m an actual user of the brand and it’s hard not to be,” Moore told WWD. “Every modern woman shops everywhere for beauty, but for me it’s mostly the airport or the drugstore. It’s nice to be promoting something that is accessible to everyone.”
In September the brand announced that Glee star Lea Michele would be a new face of the brand. At 25 she is expected to connect with a younger demographic. Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce have also previously represented the L’Oréal brand in marketing campaigns.
The L’Oréal Group is the world’s largest cosmetics and beauty company. The brand recently tied for third place with a ‘Gifted’ status in the The Digital IQ Index, which ranked the digital competence of 56 brands in Site, Digital Marketing, Social Media, and Mobile.
