In Liverpool, John Lennon’s son Julian – along with Lennon’s first wife Cynthia – unveiled a monument to the late singer. Today would have been Lennon’s 70th birthday.
The 18-foot structure was one of many events around world celebrating the late singer and songwriter. The monument was designed to promote peace.
Lennon was born in Liverpool, and went on to form the Beatles. He was killed in 1980 at age 40.
