Beautiful new works from the French furniture designer.
French furniture designer Jean Bérenger de Nattes, who combines dark woods, metals, and 24-carat gilt bronze in his modern designs, has created a new collection of 10 pieces that were recently unveiled at New York’s Maison Gerard gallery. Internationally renowned, De Nattes is known for his contemporary style infused with classic design structure, which is expressed in new pieces like the ebony armoire finished with red lacquer ($85,000), a satinwood and blue lacquer console with gilt-bronze details ($48,000), and a rosewood mirror in the shape of a clover with gilt-bronze edging ($19,800). The designer has spent the last decade creating his own line of custom fabrics and working with interior designers to create custom furniture pieces, and this collection marks his return to commercial furniture design. Each of the new furniture designs is limited to a numbered series of eight and will be available at Maison Gerard through June 30. – From Robb Report
