Jason Wu is most commonly known as the creator of Michelle Obama’s ivory inaugural gown. The fashion designer is all set to debut his costume jewelry collection as he counts hours to the Fall 2015 show scheduled February 11th.
WWD states, that after several seasons of collaborating with other jewelers, Jason Wu is branching out and adding costume jewelry to his mix. Wu’s designs have been regarded as elegant as well as ladylike and we can see this extending to the new costume jewelry collection of six key pieces, each featuring a single black or white pearl.
While the hardware on the Diane bag influenced a key “bar” detail on the jewelry, Wu elucidates that he wants to make “a minimal statement for costume jewelry taking inspiration from fine jewelry. One pearl with something quite modern and reduced felt right.”
Jason Wu fans will be glad to know that a ring from the new collection can be slipped on the finger for $340 while $875 will help to adorn the neckline with a collar style necklace.
