Ahead of an official unveiling in London on September 8, Jaguar has released additional information on its highly anticipated XE. The new sports sedan will be on display at the Paris Motor Show in October and is expected to hit dealerships sometime in 2015.
The XE project, announced at the latest Geneva Motor Show, aimed to develop an innovative premium compact sedan that would embody the renewal of the Jaguar brand. The resulting vehicle is expected to stand out in particular for its new, ultra lightweight aluminum architecture, which should enable optimized performance and agile handling.
The XE will also introduce the new Integral Link rear suspension system, designed to offer improved stiffness compared to a conventional system. The front of the vehicle will have a double wishbone suspension derived from the one seen on the Jaguar F-Type. Power-assisted steering is also featured.
On the road, the Jaguar XE is expected to offer enhanced handling and optimized performance, including a top speed of over 300km/h but CO2 emissions of less than 100g/km.
The Jaguar XE is slated to go on sale sometime during 2015.
