Imagined by Israeli designer Ariel Zuckerman, the contemporary lamp series draws inspiration from the intriguing Japanese art of Origami. By folding, stretching and twisting an innovative material, the designer created an intriguing lighting collection – named “Folded” – perfect for homes prepared to showcase an eclectic inspiration. Acrylic-covered veneer was used to shape each of the lights in the collection, allowing the material to be translucent enough to glow from within. Light penetrates the three-dimensional folded veneer, creating a warm diffused light.
There are four pieces in the collection: a table lamp, a wall lamp, a floor lamp and a chandelier. All pieces incorporate the natural look of wood as well as the fascinating effect that light offers by penetrating the textured body of each lamp. This refined combination between natural, traditional and modern lends each piece an aura of elegant simplicity despite it’s versatile complexity.
