At this month’s 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance in Monterey, California, potential new car buyers were treated to early-bird looks at new luxury models from Lexus, Cadillac, Tesla, Ferrari, McLaren, Kia and Infiniti. Though the eagerly-awaited Tesla SUV was nowhere to be seen, the Lexus pavilion featured its 2016 GS turbo sports sedan and newly refreshed 2016 LX V8 four-wheel-drive luxury utility vehicle. And in the Infiniti Pavilion, the new 2016 Infiniti Q70 Premium Select Edition took center stage.
Pursuitist and a few other select media got an advance look the night before the biggest annual auto event in North America, right on the Concours d’ Elegance awards ramp in front of the Lodge at Pebble Beach. During a Kentucky bourbon tasting of Angels Envy, Blanton’s, Basil Hayden’s, and Knob Creek — curated by Pebble Beach Market and the impressive new Stave Wine Cellar at Spanish Bay — party guests viewed the Q70 and mingled with Infinity Americas Vice President Randy Parker, and Infinity Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura.
“Following the introduction last year of the new Infiniti Q70 long-wheelbase model, we’re continuing to expand our flagship Q70 sedan’s portfolio,” said Parker. “The new Premium Select Edition package gives the Q70 an extra touch of premium elegance that is right at home here at Pebble Beach – or in any neighborhood or driveway across the country.”
The Q70 Premium Select Edition’s exterior features dark chrome trim, a darkened and lowered rear bumper, a rear deck-lid spoiler, and unique 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 245/40R20 all-season performance tires. The interior is equally sporty, with its suede-like headliner, aluminum interior trim, illuminated kick plates, floor mats with contrasting piping, and semi-aniline leather seating available in two colors: graphite or stone. Infiniti’s Premium Select Edition will be offered on standard wheelbase Q70 3.7, Q70 3.7 AWD, Q70 5.6 and non-Hybrid Q70 5.6 AWD models.
The specially-equipped Q70 premium sedan will be available at Infiniti retailers nationwide starting this November.
