HomeAway, Inc. has long been one of our favorite sites for vacation rentals, particularly since they launched Luxury Rentals from HomeAway late last year.
Now, HomeAway has announced that they have more than 4,500 homes available, making the brand the largest collection of curated luxury rentals in the world. What does that mean for you? Homes in 40 countries, and every continent except Antarctica.
While there are certainly plenty of places to find high-end homes, we love that HomeAway is publicly accessible (no membership fees or yearly dues) and that the homes are vetted via a 75+ point inspection from the luxury travel experts at Andrew Harper.
Less than one percent of HomeAway’s one million live listings make the luxury site. The screening process evaluates attributes such as price, services, location, amenities and more.
This is good news; a new report from MMGY Global reveals twenty percent of affluent travelers – identified as those with an annual household income of $125,000 or more – plan to take more vacations in the year ahead.
A few notable differences include an average of five or more bedrooms for luxury homes (multi-family trips!), whereas on HomeAway.com the houses have three bedrooms on average. Daily rates also vary significantly on each site; the luxury site’s daily rates average $1,800 while on HomeAway.com the average rates are $228 per night.
Below, you’ll find a few of our favorite luxury rentals, available on the site. Anyone down for going splitsies on a NYE weekend, Pursuitist style?
