It’s Hollywood awards season, which means that champagne is popping all over Tinseltown. Especially in Beverly Hills, where the Screen Actors Guild Awards will be held at the Fairmont Century City, stumbling distance from the Campari Lounge at The Maybourne Beverly Hills where the official SAG cocktail — the Campari Negroni Sbagliato Red-Carpet Edition — will honor the nominees and winners, including Cate Blanchett, Colin Farrell, Michelle Yeoh, Angela Bassett, Brendan Fraser, and lifetime achievement honoree Sally Fields.
A Hollywood twist on the classic Negroni Sbagliato, the special-occasion Campari Negroni Sbagliato Red-Carpet Edition cocktail was crafted by Jessamine McLellan of the Campari Academy. The cocktail is elevated by using champagne instead of Prosecco, boasts a 50/50 balance of sweet and dry vermouth, and sparkles with a touch of gold shimmer worthy of the star-studded toasts at the SAG Awards.
Campari Negroni Sbagliato Red-Carpet Edition
1 oz. Campari
.5 oz. 1757 Vermouth di Torino G.I. Rosso
.5 oz. 1757 Vermouth di Torino G.I. Extra Dry
2.5 oz. Champagne Lallier R.018
Method: Stir the Campari and two vermouths over ice and strain into a champagne flute. Top with 2.5 oz. ice-cold champagne and serve in a champagne flute glass.
In addition to the Campari Lounge, Campari partnered with Cocktail Courier to create an Award Season Negroni Sbagliato kit available through March 1. It makes 8-16 cocktails and comes with dish sweet and salty popcorn to get your SAG Awards watching party started.
