High-fashion flies higher as catwalks take to skies! Harrods has collaborated with British Airways to stage catwalk shows on-board special flights.
This latest venture, by two iconic British brands, took off to celebrate the extraordinary design of the A380. One of the most celebrated department stores has transformed the aisles of A380 to host catwalk shows high up in the air. Sky is the limit when Harrods intends to present the talent and creativity of the most respected British fashion designers.
The commemorative show was launched aboard the new A380 flight route at 30,000ft from London to Johannesburg. The high-on-fashion flight featured looks by Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham, Ralph & Russo, Temperley London, Jenny Packham and the likes. While the models strutted down the aisle in stunning designs, they put their best foot forward in Jimmy Choo shoes. They also dazzled on the floor with jewelry designed by Monica Vinader, Astley Clarke, Lara Bohinc and Shaun Leane. Ralph & Russo’s red gown gets our vote!
Harrods managing director Michael Ward quoted, “Harrods is delighted to have partnered with British Airways, bringing together two iconic British brands, to create a spectacular event. Celebrating the exceptional design of the A380, we were able to present the talent and creativity of our most respected British fashion designers, in a unique experience at 30,000ft.”
Though more shows are on the cards, Harrods has kept the release details of these fashion flights under wraps. Moreover, passengers will be by invite only.
