Gucci sets out to dress up an elephant in Tokyo, Japan! The Italian fashion house is the force behind the makeover of the Dover Street Market Ginza’s Elephant Room, a permanent installation at the Tokyo flagship. Customized by creative director Alessandro Michele with the geranium Blooms print on a blush pink background, it features ready-to-wear and accessories including Gucci Dionysus from the Gucci Cruise 2016 collection. Every inch of the room along with the Elephant sculpture has been wholly covered with the GG blossom pattern.
“This is one of the best Elephant spaces we have ever seen. This space always works best when there is a conversation or a connection between the Elephant and what is being installed or exhibited. Gucci has designed a space where the connection is primal, where the conversation is visceral, and the effect is stunning. We couldn’t be more happy. Thank you Alessandro and all the design team at Gucci for this beautiful and strong display,” Adrian Joffe, CEO Dover Street Market International expresses with gratitude.
