Take a look at this magnificent high-back outdoor armchair from Patricia Urquiola.
In Europe, B&B Italia has been selling outdoor furniture through its stable of international designers for years. But not until 2007 did B&B Italia Outdoor become available to the U.S. market. Its latest introduction, a stunning high-back armchair by Patricia Urquiola for her Crinoline collection, is an instant classic. “I wanted to free the outdoor [furniture] typology from its preconceived ideas and expectations,” Urquiola says. By developing patterns reminiscent of 1960s and 1970s macramé and employing them as a decorative motif on a thoroughly modern form, she has created a chair that is equally handsome indoors or out. Handwoven of abaca and polyethylene string by artisans in the Philippines over a painted, powder-coated aluminum frame, it is priced from $3,280. – From Robb Report
