Summer is in full swing and at the Pursuitist we love nothing more than a refreshing beer on a warm, sunny day. Here are a few of our favorites.
Sierra Nevada Summerfest Lager – Sierra Nevada Brewing Company
A summer beer that doesn’t try and do anything too fancy. Sierra Nevada Summerfest Lager is simply a great summer lager. It has a touch of malt, a touch of hops, a bit of spice, and a nice, clean, crisp, fresh taste.
Spotted Cow – New Glarus Brewing Company
Spotted Cow is a delicious ale from New Glarus Brewing Company in Wisconsin. The beer is slightly cloudy with strong carbonation. It is classified as a cream ale, and while it is sweet, the sweetness doesn’t overwhelm the beer. An exceptionally drinkable beer – almost an institution in the state of Wisconsin.
Oberon Ale – Bell’s Brewery
The Oberon wheat ale from Bell’s in Michigan is a wonderful seasonal ale. Oberon features the flavors of orange and lemon. A nice, sweet finish. It’s a well-balanced brew, perfect on its own, but great with spicy foods.
MO – Maine Beer Company
This American Pale Ale shines with zesty citrus and grapefruit. There is a subtle malt sweetness for balance, with a dry finish. MO manages to be nicely complex and challenging, but still crisp and refreshing – perfect for a summer drink.
