Stuart Weitzman’s first television commercial gets Gisele Bundchen dancing to establish the brand’s connection to dance and music. Directed by renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino, the black-and-white commercial stars the face of the brand, Gisele Bundchen along with a troup of dancers. All set to hit the television screens during this year’s MTV Video Music Awards on August 30, the commercial features Gisele in the stretch plonge leather Koko bootie. The supermodel shakes her leg and does an electric slide with an all-male troupe of dancers to moves choreographed by Marty Kudelka at the world famous Millennium Dance Complex.
Since the brand makes custom tour shoes for some of the music industry’s biggest stars like Beyonce, Rihanna and Taylor Swift, Weitzman decided to show off the shoes-fit-for-dancing by making them the subject of the new campaign. The decision to make a commercial was inspired by Swift herself.
Further explaining the decision to debut the commercial, the designer added, “The message is ‘Stuart Weitzman makes great product and you can dance in them.’ If girls see that you can dance in them, they sure know that we can wear them. The commercial side comes in that way in the sense that we’re selling the story of our DNA. We think that showing off what you can do in those boots is just as important as how you look in them.”
The full-length version of the video, titled “Make That Move” and featuring an original song of the same name by singer and model Maluca Mala, will be available for view on Stuart Weitzman website.Till then buy the Koko boot, worn by Gisele in the commercial, that is crafted from signature stretch leather. The peep-toe bootie is streamlined to perfection and available for $575.
