Last week, images leaked of a mysterious new collaboration between luxury brand Maison Martin Margiela, and Casio G-SHOCK; now an official video has emerged showing off the project.

A new video released via the Maison Martin Margiela YouTube channel shows off the hotly expected new collaboration between the Paris-based fashion label and the cult Japanese watch brand, which has been buzzing on the blogosphere ever since images emerged at the end of last week.

In the video (soundtracked by gloomy electronic effects), dust, oil, spray paint, fire and fireworks all destroy the classic Maison Martin Margiela logo. Meanwhile, superimposed above the image, a set of watch hands keeps turning unperturbed by the elements.

The video then displays a suggested launch date of “March 30, 2013”, before a brief shot emerges of a silver-colored Casio G-SHOCK watch.

While there are still no official details from the brand, online style site Hypebeast is touting a “metallic silver case and bracelet, a transparent liquid crystal skeleton display and an engraving of Margiela’s trademark numbers;” the wristband is set to come in a “removable mirrored silver leather” finish.

The watch is apparently due to appear in a limited edition of 3,000, available at selected boutiques. Pricing remains to be confirmed.

Casio released its first G-SHOCK watch in 1983, designed primarily for sports and military use. The brand has previously released five collaborations with streetwear label Stussy.
