Disney Cruise Line has given us the first advance look at their next ship, set to launch in 2025. We’ve discovered that the ship will be named Disney Destiny, and will conceptually bring beloved stories of legendary Disney heroes and villains to life.
Drawing inspiration from epic tales of Disney, Pixar and Marvel, the design theme of Disney Destiny — sister ship to Disney Wish and Disney Treasure — is based on stories, characters, and theme park attractions that are sure to forge a cruise vacation like no other.
When developing the Disney Destiny, the Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams were inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose. On board, guests will encounter heroes and villains — from tales including “The Lion King,” “Hercules” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” — within the ship’s spaces, experiences and entertainment.
Continuing a Disney Cruise Line tradition, the bow of Disney Destiny will feature a filagree image of Minnie Mouse striking a valiant pose in a heroic ensemble, with her cape waving in the sea breeze.
The vessel is being built in the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, as part of a multi-year expansion of the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
