Variety reports on French films that are doing wonderfully at the international box office. We can’t wait for Coco Before Chanel:
Global admissions outside France for Gallic pics are currently tracking ahead of 2008’s record year. The top five earners list is lead by helmer Pierre Morel’s English-language blockbuster “Taken,” starring Liam Neeson as a former CIA operative hunting for his daughter. Pic has sold 21.6 million tix outside of France, including 20.7 million in the U.S. However, recently released Audrey Tautou-starrer “Coco Before Chanel” is set to overtake them both as it continues its rollout. – from Variety
