Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC will host Drive Fore The Cure, a golf classic at Bretton Woods Golf Club benefiting the Washington Hospital Center Cancer Institute.
“For the past 30 years, events like these have raised more than 2 million dollars earmarked for cancer research. Until there is a cure, and while there is room for improvements in quality of life and supportive care, clinical research is of utmost importance toward the betterment of cancer patients’ health and welfare – now and in the future,” states Christian Clerc, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Washington.
The tournament will begin with a cookout lunch and culminate in a cocktail reception and awards ceremony. The day will include unlimited use of the practice range beginning in the morning, a golf cart, a custom logo windbreaker and unlimited beverages on the golf course. Drive Fore The Cure will also feature a special appearance by Dave Lucas, host of Capital Golf Weekly on News Channel 8. To commemorate Drive Fore The Cure’s 10th anniversary, shots of Johnny Walker Blue Label and cigars will be sold throughout the course. There will also be a silent auction with many exclusive items and great prizes. The winning foursome will receive four round trip tickets on American Airlines and a stay at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico.
An annual event, Drive Fore The Cure is part of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts global mission to help find a cure for cancer. To date, more than $500 million has been raised toward the cause. Four Seasons Founder Isadore Sharp was inspired to begin this company mission in 1980 when Terry Fox, a fellow Canadian who had lost his leg to cancer, challenged himself to run across Canada. The goal of this year’s Drive Fore The Cure Golf Classic is to raise $100,000 for cancer research programs.
