Ready to pick up a swimsuit-worth Caribbean escape? How about 20 Princess Isle, the soon-to-be auctioned Bahamas mansion owned by David T. Kollat, former executive vice president of marketing of L Brands and president of Victoria’s Secret Catalogue.
The 1.44 acre home set on 150 feet of private beach frontage in Freeport is a Concierge Auctions property. The listing is unique in that it is without reserve, meaning that although the property is currently listed at $13.8 million, it could go as high or low as the market bears.
“The vision was to create a fantasy home, not simply a beach house, which is exactly what we did,” said the seller, David T. Kollat, former executive vice president of marketing of L Brands and president of Victoria’s Secret Catalogue. “In the fashion business, the primary focus is always on design and attention to detail. Here, we created not only a beautiful home, but a relaxed and quiet place where one could reflect and create. I always loved its tranquility, serenity and solace. ”
The home is a 1920s Mediterranean/Spanish colonial revival, with a dramatic entrance of 16 towering Cuban palms that line the drive to the front door of the estate.
Designed by architect John Mitchell with interiors by David Berg, the oceanfront estate features six en-suite bedrooms including a master suite with a private terrace, two fireplaces, a bar refrigerator, custom walk-in closet and a spa bath clad in white Carrera marble with an oversized rain shower and double vanity.
Selling fully furnished, the home is outfitted in custom Ralph Lauren furniture, and a stellar collection of art and framed prints from the likes of Picasso, Warhol, Matisse and other master artists. Additional highlights include an airy formal living room with a Baldwin baby grand piano, a game room with a Brunswick billiards table, hand-made Colombian coral barrel roof tiles, Cyprus-paneled walls, parquet oak floors and Waterworks fixtures.
Equally impressive outside, a massive arched loggia with twin fireplaces spans the entire back façade. The heated lip pool overlooks the manicured lawn and ocean, while stone fireplaces are mirrored at each end. Lush landscaping throughout property includes Cuban and coconut palms, gumbo limbo and sea grape trees, oleander, hibiscus and silver and green buttonwoods. Also included is a .28-acre canal lot with 100 feet of deep water dockage that awaits a boathouse, guesthouse or a combination for the ultimate island escape.
The auction will be held on May 14th at Trump SoHo in New York City.
