This past Saturday, April 27, 2019, The Dalmar, downtown Fort Lauderdale’s newest lifestyle hotel, celebrated its grand opening.
A ribbon cutting officially started the evening, with Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis joining Jake Wurzak, CEO and President of DoveHill Capital Management and his father, Howard Wurzak, Chairman and CEO of Wurzak Hotel Group.
The extravagant affair was held from 8:30pm- 12am, and over 300 invited guests including elected officials and special VIP’s, dined on 16 different culinary themes spread out throughout the lobby lounge, pool and terrace areas, and sipped on an array of craft cocktails, champagne and drinks provided by Ketel One.
The Dalmar’s owner and visionary Jake Wurzak surprised guests with a special performance by musical sensation Flo Rida. Guests danced and sang to some of his top hits, including “Good Feeling,” “My House,” and “Low” on the pool covered dance floor that overlooked the downtown skyline.
“The Dalmar is really about doing what hasn’t been done in Fort Lauderdale before,” remarked Jake Wurzak to the evening’s more than 300. “We need all of you here to help give this place its character and soul.”
The Dalmar features 209 colorful guest rooms, five distinctive food and beverage concepts, including the city’s highest rooftop bar Sparrow and signature restaurant The Terrace Grill; a sixth floor infinity pool, wrap-around tropical landscaped terraces, fitness center, 14,000 square feet indoor/outdoor meeting and event space and Yoga Joint, South Florida’s premier yoga studio.
