Fendi’s arm candy transforms in to an arm chair! Furry bugs from the Italian fashion house, which are seen all over the fashion world, are now heading indoors to add a touch of playfulness to the decor too in form of a unique arm chair. Fendi’s Bag Bugs, not only look good on a diva’s arm but also make a dressy statement in with The Armchair of Thousand Eyes.
Designed by Brazilian designers Fernando and Humberto Campana for Fendi, the one-of-its-kind piece of home decor is shaped by bringing together hundred of the iconic furry little monsters. Upcycled using one of the most sought after fashion item, the chair debuted during the 2015 edition of Salone del Mobile in Milan.
Fendi Bag Bugs are the cutest way to spread cheer and when a hundred of them are bought together by stitching them up, they make a collector’s delight. Made of leather, fox fur, mink, kidassia fur, mongolia wool, shearling and rabbit fur, The Armchair of Thousand Eyes also took center stage exclusively at Harrods too for the inauguration of the Superbrands on the 1st floor in the first week of June.Holding on to each other playfully, the furry monsters are firmly perched on a gilded brass frame. The new creation by Fendi is essentially an interpretation of the designer duo’s limited edition Banquete chairs, made of sewn together stuffed animals.
Conceived by Humberto Campana, he states ‘When I saw the bag bugs, these Fendi little monster charms, for the very first time, I thought that they would be perfect for creating a striking chair. One year later it is exactly what has happened, thanks to Silvia Venturini Fendi who involved me in this project.
Resting on hundred bugs isn’t a fun idea if it isn’t supported by the house of Fendi!
