Vanity Fair’s Maria Ricapito reports on the wonderful Eva Scrivo Salon in NYC:
Eva Scrivo had a salon in the Meatpacking District in New York City when the area still had meat. “I was one of the first salons to open,” she says. “And there were just a few designer stores. Before that, I had only been that far west to go to nightclubs.” A hairstylist for editorial shoots with a tiny East Village salon, Scrivo opened her eponymous upper–West Village location in 2003, with herself as solo stylist. Soon the streets were full of shoppers supping on frisée salad at sidewalk tables with bags from Stella McCartney and Jeffrey at their feet. – from Vanity Fair
