Built by actor Eddie Murphy in 1998, this Granite Bay, CA, (situated just east of Sacramento) mountaintop estate is now on the market for $12 million. This stunning estate sits on a 2.5-acre compound and features a 12,000 plus square foot main residence, and a 5,200 square foot guest home. Lushly landscaped grounds are enhanced by vistas of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Folsom Lake.
The mega-mansion features 10 bedrooms, a 12-seat screening room, a gourmet kitchen, a billiards rooms, an arcarde parlor, four bars, and a large gym complete with sauna and steam room. You’ll find such amenities as marble flooring and lush (some would argue gratuitous) carpeting.
Outside there’s an infinity pool, spa, waterfalls, gazebos, basketball and tennis court.
The home is being sold with all the furnishings acquired with the property from the Murphy family, including a Shrek-themed bedroom, and a rare Luigi Colani designed Schimmel Pegasus piano (rumored to be one of only 14 ever built).
Murphy sold the home in 2007 after his divorce from his first wife, Nicole.
