Balcones del Atlántico are taking great care to ensure that this resort community, located in the former fishing village of Las Terrenas, remains faithful to its environs inside and out. The group hired an ecology expert to guide on- and off-site efforts to preserve the area’s beaches, coral reefs, vegetation, and marine life and wildlife. In addition, the 350 one- to five-bedroom condos and beachfront villas (from $300,000 to $1.5 million) are adorned with handcrafted, locally made carpentry and furnishings selected and commissioned by Santo Domingo-born interior designer Patricia Reid Baquero.
