The Fontenay Hotel quickly become one of the hottest spots in Hamburg after the March 2018 opening, and The Fontenay Bar will be the place to be this summer.
Located high up on the sixth floor, The 320 degree panoramic view overlooks the shores of Alster Lake, as well as the city’s impressive skyline. The jewel of the sculptured, light-flooded hotel, the bar is open from noon till 2am, and visitors from around the world can lounge on bright, generously placed Dedon Lounge furniture, cocoons and Gloster chairs, with seating for up to 70 guests indoors and outdoors.
The drinks, like the hotel itself, expresses itself with cosmopolitan flair, but rooted in tradition. The bar uses flavors from around the world, with individual interpretations on innovative cocktails. The guests’ favorite signature drink this year is “Gin & Gently” – an innovative creation of gin, sherry, cold grip green tea as well as gentian liqueur, topped with champagne. Other options include “Gold of the Caribbean” – made with Pineapple Rum, Coriander Spirit, Brazil Green Banana Liqueur and Lemongrass-Vanilla, as well as “Sleeping Beauty”- a silky combination of Mezcal, Dry Vermouth, Maraschino Liqueur, Sweet Cherry Liqueur and Clarified Orange Juice.
In the coming summer months, starting from June, a DJ will be performing relaxed sounds under the motto “Rooftop Chillout” on Saturday evenings. For more information: thefontenay.com
