Frédéric Malle is launching a new collection that will translate the world of people and brands he admires into scents. For the first, he chose to turn the essence of Dries Van Noten into a fragrance.
Malle called on perfumer Bruno Jovanovic for this first fragrance, which will only be available in Éditions de Parfums and Dries Van Noten outlets.
“The designs of Dries van Noten have always made me think of those Nordic interiors, where baroque furniture and modern paintings, or other unexpected combinations, naturally come together. In this part of the world the clean style of each decor and the cool local light allow every element to fully express themselves.
Dries Van Noten’s world also shares with these very particular atmospheres a sense of comfort, never sacrificing to the idea of ‘style at any price,’ and never giving way to ostentation,” explained Frédéric Malle.
The scent, which is based on natural sandalwood, is enriched with notes of vanilla, ethyl maltol, Peruvian balm, jasmine absolute, saffron and patchouli.
Dries Van Noten par Frédéric Malle will be available in the two brands’ retail outlets starting at €125 for a 50 ml spray).
