The Donna Karan Lenox collection is coming, with a preview during the New York tabletop show, October 12-15th, and a retail launch in February 2011. Here’s the official news:
Lenox today announced that it has entered into a new, exclusive licensing alliance with Donna Karan International (DKI) to create the highly anticipated Donna Karan Lenox tabletop and giftware collection to be sold throughout the United States and selected international markets.
Under the agreement, Lenox was granted the exclusive rights to manufacture, market and distribute the Donna Karan Lenox collection, which will include porcelain and stoneware dinnerware, serving pieces, crystal glassware, flatware and an extensive assortment of beautiful giftware crafted from glass, metal, ceramic and wood. In addition, the collection will feature an exclusive limited edition giftware collection. The Donna Karan Lenox collection will preview during the New York tabletop show, October 12-15th, with a planned retail launch in February 2011.
“We are excited about this enormous opportunity with Donna Karan International,” said Glenn De Stefano, President of Lenox’s Donna Karan Lenox division. “As an American company we are privileged to be working with one of America’s most iconic fashion designers. Our companies’ collaborative effort has resulted in a tabletop and giftware collection that surpasses our dreams. Together, we’ve been able to achieve an extraordinary level of quality, craftsmanship and design in order to bring to the market a product that we know will deeply resonate with the consumer,” added De Stefano.
Mark Weber, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DKI, added, “There has long been strong demand for tabletop and giftware from Donna Karan. We are very glad to join forces with Lenox, a market leader in the business, to capitalize on it. Donna Karan Lenox tabletop is a clear reflection of the functional beauty and style sensibility for which our brand is known and we look forward to bringing it to the market and into consumers’ homes.”
The collection inspired by Donna’s heritage of “Seven Easy Pieces” will include details that reflect the spirit of the brand – sophisticated, interchangeable pieces designed to live with you wherever you are.
The extensive collection will include pieces crafted from porcelain, glass, wood and metal, with pieces reminiscent of the artisan’s touch. The color palette is in refined neutral shades highlighted by Donna’s signature color – black. Retail price points range between $25 to $3,000 and the collection will be sold in better specialty retailers and department stores in the US and selected international markets.
