Disneyland Paris Opens World of Frozen and Unveils Its Biggest Transformation Ever

The big picture: Disneyland Paris officially opened World of Frozen and unveiled a fully reimagined second gate, now called Disney Adventure World, marking one of the most ambitious expansions in the resort’s 30-plus-year history.

Why it matters: Europe’s most-visited tourist destination just raised the bar for theme park immersion, with fully realized worlds drawn from Disney Animation, Pixar, and Marvel all under one roof.

What’s new:

  • Adventure Way is the park’s new central promenade, lined with landscaped gardens, dining, entertainment, and a new family ride, Raiponce Tangled Spin.
  • Adventure Bay is a dramatic central lake anchoring the park and hosting the new nighttime show, Disney Cascade of Lights.
  • World of Frozen is the headline attraction: a fully immersive land set in the Kingdom of Arendelle, built for guests who want to live inside the story, not just watch it.

The opening moment: Children from Make-A-Wish and their families were the first guests through the gates, a nod to Disneyland Paris’ 25,000th wish granted since 1992, a milestone marked during the inauguration ceremony the night before.

The ceremony: French designer Christian Louboutin, actress Léa Seydoux, Lucas Bravo, cinema legend Isabelle Huppert, and football champion Olivier Giroud were among the international guests on hand. The night featured a duet between a Make-A-Wish child and French-American singer Santa, with Olaf appearing via cutting-edge Walt Disney Imagineering robotics.

What they’re saying: “We’re opening the door to a new era,” said Natacha Rafalski, Présidente of Disneyland Paris. “An era where our guests walk straight into the heart of the stories they love.”

The bottom line: Disneyland Paris is repositioning itself as the definitive destination for immersive storytelling in Europe, and World of Frozen is the clearest proof yet that the resort is playing a long game.
