Perhaps the most iconic of all superheroes is getting a facelift. DC Comics is set to release ‘Superman: Earth One’ featuring a brooding, 20-year old Clark Kent as he tries to figure out his place in the world.
Gone is the boy scout. The new Superman wears hoodies, low-cut pants and skinny ties. Artist Shane Davis has made Superman shorter and less muscled – more of a real person than a brick wall. The look and attitude takes the character into more ‘Twilight’ territory than typical superhero worlds.
‘Superman: Earth One’ is out Wednesday, and will sell for $19.95. It is the first in a series that brings many of DC’s heroes into the modern world.
