Danish Modern Revived – Grete Jalk Chair and Nesting Table

Pursuitist Luxury Best Luxury Blog

Some furniture items are so well designed that they need to be revived. After designing the GJ Chair and GJ Nesting Table in 1963, Grete Jalk – one of the major exponents of Danish Modern in the 1950s and 1960s – became a legendary designer. Thanks to Lange Production, we can still enjoy the elegant plywood chairs and table – the Danish furniture manufacturers have revived the worthy design so we can benefit from its sculptural body.

Approximately 300 sets of  GJ Chair and GJ Nesting Table from the original series still exist today and inspire new designs. The original Teak and Oregon Pine version looks stylish, but the addition of  black stained ash wood to the mix offers elegance and an alternative for extra creative spaces that still want to display this amazing design. The Grete Jalk Chair is available for $2,500 and the Grete Jalk Nesting Table, for $1,250.
